New infection prevention and control resources: advance copies available

The Dental Board of Australia (the Board) has published advance copies of resources that will replace the Guidelines on infection control (the guidelines). The Board is encouraging practitioners to familiarise themselves with the resources before they come into effect on 1 July.

Advance copies of the following resources have been published:

• Self-reflective tool
• Fact sheet
• Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

The new resources were created following a public consultation and refined and tested with dental practitioners before publication.

The resources have been developed to help practitioners understand their obligations to practise safely, critically reflect on how they practise and address some common questions.

The resources include references to a range of helpful information to support practitioners to continue to practise safely.

The Board encourages practitioners to look at the resources before they come into effect on 1 July 2022, replacing the existing guidelines.
