An advance copy of the revised Scope of practice guidelines has been published by the Dental Board of Australia (the Board).
The revised Scope of practice guidelines have been strengthened to help clarify the changes to the revised Scope of practice registration standard.
The revised registration standard was approved at the November meeting of the Council of Australia Governments (COAG) Health Council (CHC). Health Ministers were also given a copy of the supporting revised guidelines.
Advance copies of the revised registration standard and revised guidelines have been published on the Board’s website so dental practitioners can become familiar with both documents before they come into effect next year.
The Board is continuing to engage with the dental profession and key stakeholders in the lead-up to the planned start of the registration standard in mid-2020. This will include stakeholder forums for the profession in each capital city and in some regional hubs.
